Service
If the answer to any of the questions below is YES, it may be time to replace your battery:

  • Is your battery more than three years old?
  • Has your battery outlived its warranty period?
  • Have any warning lights come on?
  • Has your vehicle been jump-started lately?
  • Have you had to use a portable charger to recharge your battery lately?
  • Do the lights dim when the A/C or heat is on?
  • Has your vehicle had alternator or belt problems recently?
  • Is there visible corrosion on the battery posts or cables?

If your vehicle is hard to start and/or has dim headlights when the engine is turned off, your battery is getting weak and should be replaced with a new Toyota TrueStartTM battery. Manufactured to Toyota's exacting standards for quality and performance, these batteries offer the right combination of cold cranking amps (CCA) and reserve capacity (RC) for reliable performance regardless of climate.

Toyota TrueStartTM batteries have been approved by Toyota engineers for years of trouble-free service-and no one knows your Toyota better than they do.  Schedule your appointment at Massey Toyota  to have your battery serviced or replaced.  We will also properly dispose of your old battery to conserve our environment!

Battery Service and Repair at Massey Toyota

While your car may live and work for many, many years, your car battery will only last you a short while.

Car batteries are one of the most important items under the hood that keep your car running but they are also one of the most feeble. Save yourself undue stress and financial consequences down the line by getting your battery checked often and replaced quickly by our service center.

In the meantime, here are some common battery issues to look out for:

Frozen or Cold Battery Death

In North Carolina we are usually blessed with relatively mild winters--but even the best meteorologists can't warn everyone about dropping nighttime temperatures and the threat they pose to car batteries. When the weather gets colder, batteries can slow and freeze until they don't work properly.

If you try to start your car and you get a battery check message on the dashboard or your car won't start, set up an appointment with our service center immediately.

Battery Corrosion

Another common battery failure is corrosion.

Corrosion can be caused by many things--most commonly changing temperatures can cause fluctuation and swelling which can lead to leaks. Once the battery begins leaking, it can make the connection between battery ports weaker. When the battery port connection is weaker or somehow impaired, it can cause issues with transferring power to the entire vehicle.

More often than not, your vehicle will be equipped with a sensor for this type of issue and will give you a dashboard alert of some kind. In extreme cases, you may not receive an alert and only become aware of the problem through battery issues and a peak under the hood.
